It was early morning. Not even Her Majesty's sun was up yet. Only one pony in Ponyville was up at such a time.
Classic Rock walked down the road, singing to himself. All was quiet, and that was just how he liked it.
Just then, a loud sound pierced the dark morning. Classic Rock quickly hid behind a tree; he wasn't the bravest pony in Ponyville.
A strange looking creature floated into view. It looked like a chimera of sorts. The chimera had an accordion in its hands. 'Chimeras... like polka?' Classic Rock thought to himself.
The creature stopped playing the garish instrument, and turned to him. "Well, actually, I'm a draconequus, not a chimera," it said.
Classic Rock jumped out from behind the tree and yelped. "By Celestia's mane, please don't hurt me!" He begged. The 'draconequus' laughed.
He picked the pegasus up by the neck and held him eye level. "Now, why would I do that? No, I am simply about to head off on my way to oblivion," he said.
The colt raised an eyebrow. "Oblivion?" he asked. "Yes, I need to leave this land, and quickly, before my... er, friend comes looking for me, like I know she will."
Classic Rock nodded in compliance. "Oh, so, you like, hurt her somehow?"
The creature shrugged and blushed a bit. "Eh, you could say that..."
"Oh, I see. You left her, because you couldn't be together?"
"Sortof, yeah, but what does that matter? I simply am ready to leave this world and search the dimensions. See what's out there." The creature dropped Classic Rock and raised his hands to the skies, to emphasize his words.
The pegasus got up quickly and flew to the draconequus' side. "Oh! Can I come with you?" he asked. "I've always wanted to see what's beyond Equestria!"
The draconequus smiled, and agreed. "I could use a bit of companionship for the moment," he had said.
The two proceeded to travel to distant stars, exploring the universe and others like it.
Needless to say, all partnerships must end at some point. And that's where Discord and Classic Rock's ended: some point.
Classic Rock can't remember when, or exactly why, but somehow he had gotten Discord angry. The Chaos Avatar had brainwashed him out of spite, and dropped him off back in Ponyville.
He had lived one year of pure revenge. Classic Rock did not smile, nor did he daydream or sing anymore. When asked about what had happened to his imagination, he had answered,"Imagination? Never heard of it."
"Classic Rock? Are you okay?"
The colt shook out of his memory, and smiled kindly. "Sorry, just daydreaming. I do that alot..."
Twilight Sparkle had met him again at a restaurant while out shopping. He offered to buy her a quick lunch.
The unicorn giggled. "Well, you looked a bit troubled," she said, turning a bit more serious.
"Oh, no, it's nothing," he replied. "But anyway, do tell: How in Equestria did you get the Master of Chaos and Disharmony to act so bloody kind?!"
Twilight blushed a bit. She poked her food with a fork. "Well, I try to bring out the good in ponies. And draconeqi," she said, laughing at that last part.
Classic Rock chuckled. "Right, you're one of the Element Bearers," he recalled. Twilight nodded, and looked over at the clock. "Oh, my. I'm so sorry, Classic Rock, but I have to go," She said, slightly alarmed.
The pegasus smiled. "No worries, mate," he said. Twilight thanked him for lunch, and zipped out the door.
Classic Rock stared in his cup of water. 'I try to bring out the good in ponies,' she had said. 'Does that mean that she... made him nice? That he wouldn't... do it again?'
A humble white mare with a black mane sat down at the table. "What did you find out?" Princess Celestia said, her disguise working well to not draw attention as they spoke.
"Um, I think... I think... she's telling the truth," Classic Rock said quietly. Celestia almost shouted in anger. "What?!" she hissed.
"She says that Discord has been turned good somehow... and I believe her." The pegasus looked down at his water glass again.
Princess Celestia had looked as though she would burst through the disguise at any moment. "Listen, she's been brainwashed, okay?! I saw it happen!"
Classic Rock sighed. "Princess, trust me. Having been brainwashed, I can sort of, I don't know, feel the chaos energy Discord gives off. The only chaotic energy I feel off of Miss Twilight is positively charged, not negatively, like that of brainwashing."
Princess Celestia grabbed the colt with her magic, and they ran around the back alley behind the restaurant. "Now, listen here, Classic Rock," she said sternly. "I need you to warn her about Discord's trick now, or else."
Classic Rock trembled with fright, but then closed his eyes and breathed out. He opened them again and looked at Celestia seriously. "No, Princess. I believe that Twilight is telling the truth. Yes, I hate Discord, probably more than you do, but I believe ponies can change. Or Draconeqi," He smiled at that last part.
Celestia was taken aback, then lowered her head. "If you believe in change so much, then let's see you change back from this again."
A bright flash lightened up the alley, and Celestia teleported back to Canterlot. A grey pegasus walked out of it, a deadly snarl on his muzzle.
